RayRay Paints a Self-Portrait can currently be purchased at Amazon. All proceeds from the book will be put towards purchasing additional copies that will be donated to classrooms or libraries in need of this book, through our partnership with Kind Cotton.

Kind Cotton Partnership

Surayyah has teamed up with Kind Cotton, a company founded by Kaitlin Johnstone, a kindergarten teacher and her husband Kevin. Kind Cotton has been working since 2017 to bring the magic of books to children globally. With a one for one business model, every Kind Cotton purchase made means a book is donated directly to a child or classroom. To date the company has provided over 35,000 books to children. More than just a donation, the company is focused on making a lasting impact on childhood literacy by working directly with children and educators to develop and enhance reading skills as well as cultivate a passion for reading through engaging literacy opportunities.  

Pre-pandemic, the team at Kind Cotton made monthly trips to local elementary schools. They host reading events, fun and educational literacy activities and every child leaves with a book. Now, Kind Cotton has found many other ways to put books in the hands of kids, such as their Nominate a Teacher program, where they choose a different educator every Tuesday to provide books to. RayRay Paints a Self-Portrait will be featured on the Kind Cotton website and donated to kids at schools around the country.
