Our Impact

Since we launched our book series, RayRay Paints a Self-Portrait, we have been making a difference for children and educators all over the world!

Book Donations

In partnership with Kind Cotton, we’ve been able to donate a number of books to classrooms across the country. So far, Kind Cotton has sent out

200 books to 15 different educators.

Some requested class sets and some just a copy for their classroom. It was wonderful, and we would love to continue to share more as our project continues to grow.

A preschool teacher Willy from California requested 3 copies for a few of the girls in his class. They were so happy to see a book with a main character that looked like them!!!

Kaitlin, the co-founder of Kind Cotton was beyond grateful to offer RayRay Paints a Self Portrait to educators across the country.

At Kind Cotton we are very dedicated to putting books into the hands of children that make them feel seen, loved, and valued, which is exactly what Ray’s book does.

Reading Events

In addition to our book donations, we have been hosting reading events in local classrooms. Surayyah brings copies of the book to young students in classrooms, and they read together and afterwards there is time for discussion, reflection, and questions. So far, the kids and teachers alike have been loving the book! See below for some images of kids enjoying RayRay Paints a Self-Portrait.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the RayRay books!!! The kids LOVED them and the theme is so important for my suburban kiddos to read.
They loved the story and it connected so closely to our current read aloud. It was a happy day in my room!
